Black Maternal Health Week Dance Party Fundraiser!
Dance Party Fundraiser for Black Maternal Health Week!
Black Maternal Health Week is an annual observance that takes place during the week of April 11-17th, aimed at raising awareness about the disparities in maternal health outcomes faced by Black women in the United States. Established in 2020 by the Black Mamas Matter Alliance, this week of action focuses on promoting the health and well-being of Black mothers and birthing people, advocating for policy change, and educating the community about the issues affecting Black maternal health.

Black women are three to four times more likely to experience maternal mortality than their white counterparts. This week serves as a platform to highlight systemic racism, inadequate healthcare, and social determinants of health that contribute to these disparities, while also celebrating the strength and resilience of Black mothers. By fostering dialogue, community care, and promoting resources, Black Maternal Health Week aims to empower Black families and advocate for equitable maternal health care for all.
